You are invited to an Afternoon of Jazz in Weequahic Park for the Community featuring the James Austin Jr Trio and a very Special Guest Tommy Garrett. Its Juneteenth Holiday a time for celebration and its Fathers Days.

What better way to show our love and happiness with each other.

Father’s Day is a celebration honoring people’s fathers and celebrating the fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in their society. -\

Live Music- Jazz i the Park – We have James Austin Jr a semi-finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano competition and now leader of the famous NJPAC Jazz Jam, Tommy Garrett a critically acclaimed singer and Sony Columbia recording artist, Songwriter, former Broadway Actor & international fashion model discovered by Eileen Ford. Chris Berger One of the most sought-after jazz bassists in the Greater New York City, New Jersey area and Detroit born, international performer Kayvon Gordon, mentored under the legendary trumpeter Marcus Belgrave.

Weequahic Park is committed to mentoring youth and bringing fathers, youth and families together with Jazz. After 10 years of the restoration of Weequahic Park through environmental clean ups, social networks engagements, and recreational programming, Weequahic Park Sports Authority is happy to be cosponsoring an event with Gregory Burris Productions, The Patterson Foundation and Essex County Parks.

Presenting one of a series of cultural events and performances helping to bring cultural experiences to area youth, using lifestyle motivation sessions through performing and fine artists.
