SUMMARY:Rutgers IJS Presents Harmony Bartz Experience
DESCRIPTION:Register on Eventbrite\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in Harlem\, New York\, Taifa “Harmony” Bartz has been singing and dancing since she was 2 years old. She began her acting and modeling career at the age of 9. Her father\, jazz saxophonist and Grammy winner Gary Bartz\, introduced her to a wide variety of music at a very young age. She formed her first band while still in high school and was so active in the arts that she was given recognition as one of Who’s Who in Music at the age of 17. \n\n\n\nHer band\, The Harmony Experience!\, is an explosion of straight-ahead jazz\, blues\, neo-soul\, R&B\, and funk\, with her jazzy vocal stylings woven amongst every song. This band is one of the hottest bands in the tri-state area\, and they have performed at many well-known venues\, including Minton’s\, The Shrine\, and Patrick’s Place. They have also been in high demand at many music festivals\, including the Fort Greene Jazz Festival in Brooklyn and the long-standing Old-Timer’s Festival at Crotona Park in the Bronx.  \n\n\n\nHarmony has left an indelible mark in the entertainment industry\, with her involvement in various roles including acting\, directing\, music\, and voiceover work. Her portfolio is teeming with a diverse array of productions\, such as the plays “Oliver\,” “Not in This House\,” “Love 911\,” “The Flip Side\,” “Bang No More\,” and “Halfway House of Gospel.” In the realm of cinema\, she has also contributed her talents to films like “Blood Done Sign My Name\,” “Passionate Prayers\,” “Happiness is Luxury\,” “Scorn\,” and “Gospel Good\, Gospel Bad\, Gospel Ugly.” \n\n\n\nEmphasizing her versatility\, Harmony has not only graced the stage and screen but has also taken the reins as the host of the TV show “Cultural Expressions.” Furthermore\, she has excelled in her appearances on “Black Dresses and Coffee\,” a captivating TV series\, and the esteemed webisode “Broken.” Her outstanding contributions have not gone unnoticed\, with numerous productions basking in accolades from regional and film festivals. \n\n\n\nBeyond her bustling career\, Harmony generously dedicates her spare time to nurturing the next generation of artists. She ardently imparts her knowledge and expertise in music\, drama\, and dance to children through afterschool programs. Moreover\, her altruistic spirit shines through her involvement in a music therapy program focused on bringing live music to nursing homes\, brightening the lives of seniors and residents. Harmony’s commitment to both her craft and community is a testament to her enduring impact in the entertainment industry and beyond. \n\n\n\nShe looks forward to continuing to share her talents by entertaining audiences for many years to come through song\, dance\, spoken word and art.
