His writing and arranging draw from the full spectrum of American jazz\, delivering tight horn lines\, inventive harmonies\, and high‑energy improvisation. \n\n\n\nKaplan has performed with major artists including Slide Hampton\, the Glenn Miller Orchestra\, Chico Mendoza\, Steve Turre\, Russell Malone\, and Rob McConnell\, and his arrangements have been featured by ensembles such as Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band and Orquesta Royal.
