His writing and arranging draw from the full spectrum of American jazz\, delivering tight horn lines\, inventive harmonies\, and high‑energy improvisation. \n\n\n\nKaplan has performed with major artists including Slide Hampton\, the Glenn Miller Orchestra\, Chico Mendoza\, Steve Turre\, Russell Malone\, and Rob McConnell\, and his arrangements have been featured by ensembles such as Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band and Orquesta Royal. With a five-octave range and perfect pitch\, she commands the stage across genres including jazz\, R&B\, gospel\, soul\, and pop. \n\n\n\nHer theater credits span iconic productions like Dream Girls\, Smokey Joe’s Café\, Ragtime\, Aida\, and Avenue Q\, where Broadway World declared her “fabulous with a voice that shakes the rafters”.  \n\n\n\nOffstage\, Lynette is a passionate mental health advocate and Director of the New Jersey Mental Health Players\, blending art and education to break stigma and spark dialogue. The New Jersey Mental Health Players\, a nationally recognized\, interactive community education program under the Mental Health Association in New Jersey. For over two decades\, she has combined her artistic gifts with advocacy\, using performance to educate the public\, reduce stigma\, and promote emotional wellness. She is a certified trainer in Mental Health First Aid\, suicide prevention (QPR)\, trauma-informed care\, and crisis intervention\, and has reached tens of thousands through workshops\, webinars\, and live presentations \n\n\n\nA Newark native and featured artist in the Encyclopedia of Newark Jazz\, Lynette continues to inspire through performance\, mentorship\, and community leadership.
