DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease join us. Free open to all.\n\n\n\nCome experience the fusion of Jesus and Jazz and uplift your spirits and leave feeling inspired. \n\n\n\nDamon Duewhite\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDamon DueWhite is a powerhouse in the world of drumming with a career that spans multiple genres\, from Broadway musicals and jazz festivals to collaborations with some of the biggest names in music. Born and raised near Philadelphia\, he started drumming at the age of six under the guidance of his father—a jazz drummer—and by his teenage years was already playing in local bands around Philadelphia and the New York Tri-State area. His early exposure to a family steeped in musical traditions laid a foundation that would carry him through decades of professional success . \n\n\n\nDamon’s formal training at Berklee College of Music not only refined his technique but also broadened his musical horizons. This education proved invaluable as he embarked on tours and recordings with legends such as Roberta Flack\, Vanessa Williams\, Hugh Masekela\, and Oliver Lake\, among others. His versatility as a percussionist is notable—he can also supplement his drumming with electric bass and vocals\, which adds a distinctive dimension to his performances. \n\n\n\nHis Broadway credentials are impressive and include leading drumming roles in major productions. Damon has been the principal drummer for the U.S. tour of the Tony Award-winning musical “Bring in ‘Da Noise\, Bring in ‘Da Funk” and played significant parts in other well-known shows such as “It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues\,” “The Color Purple\,” “Holler If Ya Hear Me” (which explored the music and legacy of Tupac Shakur)\, and the Tony Award-winning “Hello Dolly” that featured marquee names like Bette Midler and Tina Turner. His engagement in pre-Broadway workshops and national tours highlights both his technical skill and his ability to adapt to the dynamic demands of live musical theater 1. \n\n\n\nBeyond the Broadway stage\, DueWhite’s career extends to international jazz festivals and major concert venues around the globe. He has performed at iconic locations including Carnegie Hall\, NYC’s Jazz at Lincoln Center\, and international festivals like Montreux in France\, North Sea Jazz in the Netherlands\, and numerous others spanning Africa\, Australia\, Europe\, and beyond. His television appearances on shows such as The Tonight Show\, Good Morning America\, and CBS This Morning further attest to his broad appeal and technical mastery. \n\n\n\nIn addition to his performance career\, Damon DueWhite is also a dedicated educator. He has directed high school jazz ensembles and taught drumming and percussion at institutions like the Boys’ Club of New York and the Josie Robertson School of Music and Art. His commitment to sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation underlines his passion not only for performance but for the art of drumming itself . \n\n\n\nDamon’s multifaceted career—from a young prodigy to a seasoned Broadway veteran and international performer—showcases his immense talent\, versatility\, and dedication to music. His ability to bridge various musical worlds and impart his expertise to young musicians makes his career both influential and inspiring. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAlex Desrivieres\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlex Desrivieres is a talented woodwind musician based in New Jersey. He plays saxophone\, flute\, and clarinet and has performed in various settings\, including Norwegian Cruise Lines\, Dutch Wonderland amusement park\, and multiple musicals.
