SUMMARY:Rutgers IJS Presents AAPI Jazz Collective
DESCRIPTION:The AAPI Jazz Collective\, led by trombonist Peter Lin\, will play two special sets of curated music honoring AAPI Heritage Month (Asian American Pacific Islander). Come and hear some classic pan-Asian songs reimagined within the jazz context. \n\n\nRegister on Eventbrite\n\n\nMỹ Tâm Huynh – vocals \n\n\n\nPeter Lin – trombone \n\n\n\nJasper Shogo Dutz – woodwinds \n\n\n\nMike Bond – piano \n\n\n\nWen-Ting Wu – drums \n\n\n\nKevin Hsieh – bass \n\n\n\nThe AAPI Jazz Collective is an all-star ensemble featuring up-and-coming AAPI jazz artists throughout the tri-state area. Formed in 2019 by Taiwanese-American trombonist\, Peter Lin\, this ensemble strives to promote empathy through passionate musical expression. The AAPI Jazz Collective performs jazz-infused arrangements of classic and traditional Asian songs\, as well as exciting originals they appropriately label as “The New Asian Songbook”.
