Experience the soulful vocal tributes from The Antoinette Montague Experience, a taste of Brazilian Pop Jazz by Zabelê, the captivating singing of Janetza Miranda, and much more. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a celebration that amplifies the voices of women who have left an enduring mark on Newark’s city’s cultural identity.

About the artists:  

Janetza Miranda 

Janétza Miranda is a Newark Native who combines the traditions of Jazz, Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Bolero, Bomba y Plena, Hip Hop, & More into a remixed sonic delight of vocalizations and rhythmic proclamations that transport you to a space that is suspended in time 

Zabelê  

Zabelê, the daughter of Brazilian music legends Baby do Brasil and Pepeu Gomes, transitions from her SNZ days to a captivating solo career, bringing a fusion of Brazilian Music and Pop Jazz to the stage 

Leslie Lucy  

Leslie Lucy, a luminary in the dance world, seamlessly transitions from her roots at Premier Dance Theater and Broadway Dance Center to a mesmerizing solo career, enthralling audiences with her electrifying moves and choreographic finesse, amalgamating diverse dance styles on the stage  

Bella Star 

At just 14, BELLASTAR, a consummate triple threat with notable appearances on America’s Got Talent and stages like World of Dance, actively contributes to her Newark, NJ community, embodying a commitment to both artistic excellence and community enrichment 

Antoinette Montague  

The acclaimed New York Jazz and Blues luminary, seamlessly weaves her soulful artistry on prestigious stages such as the Blue Note and Jazz At Lincoln Center, enchanting audiences worldwide, while wholeheartedly championing music education and nurturing the next generation of artists
