With a strong telecommunications management, business process, information technology background, Gregory led major corporate-wide systems and customer service and delivery teams in AT&T and Verizon. Responsible for managing large teams, million-dollar budgets, multifaceted project plans that focused on delivering corporate-wide business process improvements. Later in his own consulting business, Gregory traveled extensively as a business systems consultant across, the US, Canada, and Europe understanding business requirements and developing service delivery systems to improve customer service.
Upon leaving the corporate environment, Gregory founded Technical Operations Services and Solutions (TechOSS) which provided coaching, website development, and internet marketing services to the local community. Through his Website Development and Social Media Marketing business, Gregory focused on helping small business owners succeed through the use of internet technology.
Gregory Burrus was the former president of the South Orange Historical Society and is now focused on supporting the Northern New Jersey music and arts communities.

Currently, Gregory Burrus is channeling his passions by supporting, promoting and documenting the music and art scene in the local towns of North Jersey. He is the Event Manager/ Promoter of South Orange Downtown After Sundown Live Music Concert Series comprised of 70 events of all music genres. Concerts kick off Memorial weekend through Labor Day, every Friday and Saturday evening from 7:00pm to 10pm along with a selected Sunday once a month for a special Sunday Jazz event from 6 – 9 PM

Entertainment/Stage Manager responsible for live music at the Annual Maplewood / South Orange 4th of July celebration. A full day of festivities in Memorial Park, with live music on two concert stages, a carnival midway, boardwalk games, two food courts, a classic car show, the Zerbini Family Circus, and much, much more!
New this year will be a day-long fun-filled fair environment with food court, attractions and entertainment featuring Maplewood’s First 4th of July Car Show, a food zone with sheltered and open-air tables and chairs, live music, vendors and boardwalk games such as ring toss and spin the wheel games and bouncy and fun house. These are in addition to our perennial FREE 4th of July favorites: Kids’ Bikes, Etc. Parade, Kids’ Dashes & Relays, CHS Robotics, Art Project, Ice Cream Eating Contests, Tennis Contests, Baking Contest, Karaoke, Kids’ Percussion, Pet Awards Show and more.

Gregory is the creator of the Annual South Orange 24 Hours of Live Music event.
The Annual 24 Hours of Music Festival of Live Music is set and ready to start at Noon. Free all day and night and everyone is invited to come on out and watch music being made all day long in multiple locations around South Orange, NJ.


Gregory Burrus – with Shakur Stevenson as former Board Member of Stevenson & Moses Boxing for Life. Stevenson & Moses Boxing For Life is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization committed to using boxing as a tool to teach camaraderie among peers in the community. Our signature program teaches Olympic style boxing that provides participants with the skills necessary to become a contender in the Olympics for Boxing if they choose to do so. We provide training for athletes to build endurance and perseverance for the sport of their choice and believe that the words and experience in and of itself is an asset to one’s life. Our goal is to offer boxing as a deterrent to bullying and gun violence by building character and responsibility for the community in which participants live. Stevenson and Moses Boxing For Life, a viable force in the community, is the vision of Willie and Robyn Moses, along with their grandson Pro Boxer & 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist in Boxing Shakur Stevenson.
Gregory Burrus is a Board Member of Maplewood Community Music. Since its formation in 2003, the organization has grown to well over 50 musicians and has numerous active ensembles. MCM hosts between 4-6 events each season and our ensembles perform at even more local events each year. The dedicated group of volunteer musicians and conductors continue to work towards MCM’s major goals of giving hobbyist musicians the opportunity to play and perform and bringing music to Maplewood, South Orange, and other nearby communities. In addition, MCM is proud to support community events and community/youth music enrichment programs.
