Damon Duewhite

Damon DueWhite is a powerhouse in the world of drumming with a career that spans multiple genres, from Broadway musicals and jazz festivals to collaborations with some of the biggest names in music. Born and raised near Philadelphia, he started drumming at the age of six under the guidance of his fatherโa jazz drummerโand by his teenage years was already playing in local bands around Philadelphia and the New York Tri-State area. His early exposure to a family steeped in musical traditions laid a foundation that would carry him through decades of professional success .
Damonโs formal training at Berklee College of Music not only refined his technique but also broadened his musical horizons. This education proved invaluable as he embarked on tours and recordings with legends such as Roberta Flack, Vanessa Williams, Hugh Masekela, and Oliver Lake, among others. His versatility as a percussionist is notableโhe can also supplement his drumming with electric bass and vocals, which adds a distinctive dimension to his performances.
His Broadway credentials are impressive and include leading drumming roles in major productions. Damon has been the principal drummer for the U.S. tour of the Tony Award-winning musical “Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk” and played significant parts in other well-known shows such as “It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues,” “The Color Purple,” “Holler If Ya Hear Me” (which explored the music and legacy of Tupac Shakur), and the Tony Award-winning “Hello Dolly” that featured marquee names like Bette Midler and Tina Turner. His engagement in pre-Broadway workshops and national tours highlights both his technical skill and his ability to adapt to the dynamic demands of live musical theater 1.

Alex Desrivieres

Alex Desrivieres is a talented woodwind musician based in New Jersey. He plays saxophone, flute, and clarinet and has performed in various settings, including Norwegian Cruise Lines, Dutch Wonderland amusement park, and multiple musicals. He was also recognized as a โRising Starโ at the COTA Jazz Festival in 2015 and 2016. Desrivieres leads the Harmonic Convergence Band, a project that blends different musical genres and cultures. He performs under the name AlleyCatSax, a nickname he earned in high school. His teaching philosophy emphasizes guided exploration and student-centered learning, helping young musicians unlock their creativity
Kim Clark

Meet Kim A. Clarke, a New York-based bassist, composer, and educator drawing inspiration from her jazz heritage. With skills in Acoustic Bass, Electric Upright, and Electric Bass Guitar, Kim’s music is described as soulful and funky. Having performed globally for over two decades with top jazz artists, Kim credits her success to her upbringing and education, including scholarships from the National Endowment for the Arts. She continues her studies with Dr. Barry Harris.With degrees in Communications and Music from City College and Long Island University, Kim has toured with the Yusef Lateef Quartet and collaborated with legends like Joe Henderson and Art Blakey.Recognized in publications like Bass Player Magazine, Kim is not only a jazz musician but also an accomplished funk bassist known for her time with Defunkt.
Phil Bingham

Phil Bingham is a pianist, conductor, and music education consultant. He has served as Minister of Music Emeritus at Concord Baptist Church of Christ in Brooklyn, NY, and has worked as a music consultant for school districts in the New York City area. Bingham has also been involved in jazz education, including conducting for the Barry Harris 50-Year Concert Retrospective Concert Band, Orchestra, and Choir.
In addition to his work in education and church music, Bingham has performed at notable events, such as the formal dedication of a statue honoring Count Basie at the William and Catherine Basie Arts Plaza. His playing was described as captivating, holding the audience’s attention for over an hour before the official ceremony began..
