Ed Palermo on alto sax in the horn section are Bob Kenselaar, tenor sax, and John
Christmann, trombone. Bassist Ian Kenselaar heads up the rhythm section, with
James Hassenfeld, guitar; Rich Paganello, piano; and Jed Baker, drums.

The Hard‐Bop Express is a seven‐piece ensemble with featured artist and band
mentor Ed Palermo, the renowned big‐band leader and alto saxophonist – Christian
McBride calls him “one of the greatest musicians and arrangers in the world.”

With a front line of alto sax, tenor sax, and trombone, the Hard‐Bop Express plays a
range of jazz material, with a strong emphasis on the music of Art Blakey, Horace
Silver, and Cannonball Adderley.
