Get On Board: Celebrating the Soul Train Dancers 1971–1975
September 19 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm EDT

An unforgettable evening is pulling into the station, and you’re invited to ride the groove. On September 26, 2026, the Jersey City Free Public Library’s Miller Branch transforms into a vibrant celebration of storytelling, live music, and the iconic era that shaped a generation — Soul Train.
From 6–9 PM, we honor the legacy of the dancers who helped define the show’s golden years, The Soul Train Dancers 1971–1975, with a night that blends history, rhythm, and community joy.
Featuring Author Stephen McMillian
The evening spotlights acclaimed author Stephen McMillian, whose work preserves and uplifts the stories behind Soul Train’s cultural impact. His insights bring you closer to the dancers, the movement, and the magic that made Soul Train a national treasure.
Hosted by Wilma Ann
Guiding the night is Wilma Ann, lead vocalist of Wilma Ann & The Soul Fanatics. Her presence and her band – Steve Niles: keys, Rich Acciavatti: electric bass, Larry Banks: drums – set the tone for a soulful, welcoming, and high‑energy live music celebration.
