Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, she began her musical journey as a prodigious classical pianist, graduating from the Baku Conservatory before her curiosity and imagination led her toward jazz. That path carried her to the Rotterdam Conservatory and later to Boston’s Berklee College of Music, where her compositional voice deepened and her artistic identity crystallized.

Figarova’s career has since become a global tapestry. She has performed at major festivals and clubs around the world — from North Sea to New Orleans, Cape Town to São Paulo — consistently earning praise for her expressive touch, intricate writing, and the emotional depth of her ensembles.
