Sunday, July 12 – Grand Kickoff 3-6 PM Brightside

The 2026 Jamboree launches with a thrilling 17‑piece big band led by internationally renowned composer and conductor Hyeseon Hong. This powerhouse ensemble ignites the week with a sweeping, cinematic sound—an opening night designed to announce, unmistakably, that the Jamboree has arrived.

You’re invited!

Join us this Sunday for an afternoon of live jazz with the Hyeseon Hong Jazz Orchestra at Brightside Tavern in Jersey City. We’ll be performing a program of original music featuring an outstanding lineup of New York musicians, including acclaimed tenor saxophonist Rich Perry, along with some of the city’s finest jazz artists.

This concert is part of Gregory Burrus Productions 24 Hour Music Jamboree, a statewide celebration of live music, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

Whether you’re a longtime jazz fan or simply looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon, we’d love to have you there. Admission is free, all ages are welcome, and Brightside Tavern is a wonderful place to enjoy great music, food, drinks, and community.

Bring some friends and come celebrate live music with us. Hope to see you there!

2026 Festival Week Overview

Stretching from Jersey City to the Jersey Shore

Background

The 24 Hours of Music Jamboree began in 2017 in South Orange as a continuous 24‑hour celebration of community and live music. It shifted online in 2020 during the COVID‑19 pandemic, returned as a two‑day hybrid event in 2021, and has now evolved from 2 days into 2021 to an eight‑day “horizontal edition” stretching from Jersey City to the Jersey Shore. This expanded format allows the Jamboree to reach more towns, more audiences, and more stages while remaining rooted in its mission of free, community‑centered live music events. Learn more.
