Join us on Mothers Day.

Grammy‑nominated jazz vocalist Carla Cook brings her warm, honey‑rich voice and soulful storytelling to Mt. Zion’s Blues & Blessings Mother’s Day Celebration on May 10. Known for her elegant phrasing, deep musicality, and the spiritual grounding that shapes her artistry, Carla bridges the worlds of jazz, gospel, and heartfelt praise with effortless grace.

Her performances carry a rare blend of sacred warmth, emotional honesty, and musical mastery, inviting listeners into a space where faith and artistry meet. Whether interpreting a timeless standard or lifting a hymn with jazz‑infused soul, Carla Cook delivers music that heals, uplifts, and inspires.

Carla’s presence is elevated even further by the masterful accompaniment of Phil Bingham, whose sensitive, spirit‑led piano work deepens every moment of worship and lifts each song into something beautifully shared and sacred.

This special Mother’s Day service is led by Rev. Eyesha Marable, whose vision for worship through the arts continues to elevate Mt. Zion and Millburn’s jazz‑and‑blues worship experience into a space of joy, reflection, and community uplift.

We warmly invite you to journey with us through Mt. Zion’s vibrant Sunday worship‑arts series — Jesus & Jazz, Blues & Blessings, Poetry & Praise, and Communion & Choirs — each offering its own unique blend of faith, creativity, and community connection. Together, these gatherings create a sacred rhythm that lifts spirits, honors tradition, and celebrates the many ways the spirit moves through music, art, and worship.

Register and let us know you coming or just walk on in.
