Mount Zion AME Church in Millburn announces its upcoming Jesus & Jazz worship‑arts service, featuring acclaimed young vocalist Alexis Morrast. The 4th‑Sunday gathering blends sacred tradition with the expressive power of jazz, offering a morning where music, ministry, and community rise together.

Morrast, a two‑time winner of Showtime at the Apollo and recipient of the NAACP Youth in the Arts Award, has performed at premier venues including the Newport Jazz Festival and the Kennedy Center. Her sound—rooted in church and shaped by jazz—carries purity, soul, and effortless musicality. Known for her sincerity and spiritual clarity, she brings depth to hymns, jazz standards, and contemporary pieces alike.

Despite national acclaim, Morrast remains grounded in faith, family, and purpose. For this service, she offers a ministry of music designed to inspire praise, reflection, and joy. She will be joined by pianist Phil Bingham, whose artistry supports and elevates her performance.

The event invites congregants and guests to experience a radiant morning where worship meets artistry, and every note becomes an expression of devotion.
