Laura Dreyer is a saxophonist, flutist, composer, and educator originally from the San Francisco Bay Area who has become a vibrant and influential voice on the New York jazz scene. A dynamic bandleader and versatile woodwind artist, she has performed with an extraordinary range of musicians, including Dr. Billy Taylor, Dom Salvador, Amaro Freitas, Helcio Milito, Portinho, Bossa PDX, Walter Bishop Jr., Mel Lewis, Robert Palmer, Nnenna Freelon, James McBride, and The Diva Jazz Orchestra. As a leader and producer, Dreyer has released five acclaimed albums—Mysterious Encounter, Free Flying Bird, Sax in the City, Vida. Arte. Amor., and her latest, Água e Sol. She is also featured on Dom Salvador’s award‑winning recording The Art of Samba Jazz, honored with the Prêmio da Música Brasileira for Best Instrumental Recording. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and SUNY Empire State College, Dreyer studied with Joe Henderson, Joe Lovano, Dennis Kaufman, Lyle Mays, and Jim McNeely, mentors who helped shape her distinctive musical voice. Recently, she toured with The Manhattan Transfer featuring The Diva Jazz Orchestra and appeared with Dom Salvador at the Cerrado Jazz Festival and SESC Pompéia in Brazil. Today, Dreyer continues to tour nationally and internationally as a performer, composer, and clinician, bringing artistic depth, versatility, and a global perspective to every stage she graces.
Kate Cosco is a New York City–based jazz pianist and composer whose professional work spans jazz, pop, and contemporary styles. She began classical piano studies at age five and went on to earn a degree in piano and audio engineering from Indiana University, followed by a master’s degree in jazz piano performance from the University of Memphis. An active performer, Cosco appears regularly in NYC jazz clubs and concert venues and has toured with renowned artists including The Four Tops, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Temptations, Little Anthony and The Imperials, and Ben E. King. Her acclaimed trio recording Soul Eyes highlights her expressive touch and musical sensitivity. Cosco has been featured multiple times at the International Women in Jazz and Lady Got Chops festivals, and she recently co‑hosted a jazz workshop at the Barry Harris Institute in Rome, where she also performed with her trio at Caffè Lettrario. In New York, she maintains a piano residency at Robert at MAD restaurant and frequently leads ensembles at Cellar Dog, Smalls, Mezzrow, Ornithology, and other notable jazz rooms. Alongside her performance career, she serves as an adjunct professor in the jazz department at Montclair State University, continuing to shape the next generation of musicians.
