Gregory Burrus – Saxophonist Leo Johnson
You know it’s a special night when Saxophonist Leo Johnson is in the house. Oh yeah!!!! Newark jazz legend, Leo Johnson, was featured a while back in the Star-Ledger as one of 75 of the “Greatest Jazz Musicians from New Jersey. This cat has performed with Bobby “Blue” Bland, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Chico Mendoza, Regina Carter, the O’Jays, Faith Evans and many more. Johnson also toured with organist Rhoda Scott. Of course many of us remember the fabulous truly swing nights at Clements Place where he just turned the whole place out!!! It was an awesome night.
